| Seabiscuit | Roots of Motive Power | Mendocino County Museum |
|
Mendocino County Museum is a regional “Community Storyteller.” Explore local history. Follow the intriguing story of Mendocino County from the shipwreck that opened the region to logging and settlement in the 1850s to a diverse way of life by viewing the insides of a 1970s “hippie van.” See Dr. Babcock’s homemade movie of Mendocino County's most famous equine, Seabiscuit. Enjoy exhibits of MCM's Pomo basket collection, logging, wine making, commercial fishing and ranching. The Museum has recently added 10,000 square feet to include space for Roots of Motive Power and new classroom space for Mendocino College, featuring railroad and logging exhibits and a learning center.
